CAFE SOCIETY'S STEVE OSBURN Steve Osburn's expert French has been gleaned by traveling to France as often as possible - sitting in cafés, ordering a café or Pernod (depending on the time of day) and using such words as "donc" and "alors" to pose as a Parisian.
Francophile and co-principal of Café Society, Steve is well versed in multiple design disciplines. You will find him regularly at his drawing board designing a video store, country home or new piece of furniture. In his off-hours he is sometimes behind the café bar, perfecting the perfect crema. With 30 years of experience in residential and commercial design, Steve Osburn has distinguished himself by his fresh approach to every aspect of the built environment, including the design of everything from residential compounds to innovative furniture, lighting and accessories on behalf of clients and manufacturers. Steve founded Osburn Design in 1972 and was joined by co-principal and wife Joan Osburn, in 1978. Osburn Design is a residential and commercial interior design company located in San Francisco and Napa. The distinguished design studio has won dozens of awards from both consumer and design organizations. Steve, along with Joan, Is frequently asked to write and lecture on various aspects of design and their work has been featured in many regional, national and international newspapers and magazines, books and TV features. Steve studied interior design, interior architecture, and industrial and furniture design at the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California. While in school he has studied the German, Italian & Spanish languages. He is a Certified Interior Designer in the State of California, a Professional Member and former Board Member of the Association of Interior Design (ASID). |
